Findings from the Larimer County Summit on Aging

Under auspices of the Hartford Partnership Program for Aging, and leadership of Louise Quijano, Phd, Assistant Professor, CSU School of Social Work, an analysis of the Summit on Aging breakout sessions was conducted by Kelly Blanchard and Brittany Silvers. The findings are presented here.

Kelly Blanchard

Kelly Blanchard

Kelly will be graduating in May 2010 with her Masters in Social Work from Colorado State University. As a fellow in the Hartford Partnership Program for Aging Education, she will receive a certificate in gerontology with hopes of continuing to serve older adults, specifically in the Veteran population. Kelly graduated with her Bachelors in Social Work from Grand Valley State University in Grand Rapids, Michigan where she worked as a social worker with an Area Agency on Aging and then as a social worker at a retirement community. In addition to her academic education at CSU, she has been working as a research assistant and interning through the Veterans Administration and Lemay Avenue Health and Rehabilitation Facility.

Brittany Silvers

Brittany Silvers

Brittany is a graduate student at Colorado State University in her final semester of the Masters of Social Work program. She is a gerontology fellow with the Hartford Partnership Program for Aging Education and she is currently serving an internship with the Larimer County Foundation of Aging. Brittany has a B.A. in Social Work from Gordon College in Wenham, MA. She looks forward to further pursing her passion in working with vulnerable populations across the life span.
