About the Foundation
Our Mission
The Foundation on Aging for Larimer County has the mission to address the needs of older adults, raise community awareness of those needs, and foster solutions that improve quality of life.
Our History
The Foundation on Aging for Larimer County (FOA) was founded as a non-profit in 1986. We are primarily a volunteer organization with minimal overhead and an established track record, which is actively engaged in trying to raise the level of awareness of issues facing all seniors.
We believe in and actively support the power of collaboration amongst all community resources. Along with the Larimer County Office on Aging, we play a leadership role in bringing various interests to the table. Our primary concern is for those seniors who do not qualify for low income benefits yet do not have sufficient income to adequately meet their needs. We work with the Office on Aging to aggressively address the problem of diminishing resources in the face of increasing need among seniors.
FOA’s 23 years of experience gives us understanding that we must continue our rapid response to seniors' emergency needs, including not only the small grants they need, but compassion and attention to seniors as individuals.
We need – and seek financial resources to accomplish our goals.
